Classic French Style Furniture is known for it's lavish, luxurious style with subtle, graceful curves, carved feet and distinctive cornice mouldings. French style furniture will bring a summery look to even the darkest of rooms with its air of sophistication.
French Style Furniture
French style furniture is probably the most feminine way to furnish a room. The lovely flowing curves are girly enough, but the painted finish is the clincher – this is not the kind of furniture you would find in a bachelor pad in a million years! That is not to say that it doesn’t work in a family setting however. Bookcases, sideboards and display cabinets would look perfectly at home in any fairly traditional room and if you have a dark corner, you can immediately give it a nice lift with a piece of painted French style furniture.
If your entire interior is not in the right style for French painted furniture to be entirely at home but you have fallen in love with the look nevertheless, something that would work anywhere would be a console table in the hall, where there is often no other furniture, or a pretty painted French style desk in a bedroom or even in a corner of a landing or spare bedroom. French style furniture is not bulky and will fit almost anywhere where you have a spare foot or so and it is so pretty and delicate you will enjoy owning it even if it is tucked away.
If you are starting a bedroom from scratch, though, or a sitting room which is kept for best, then you can scarcely choose a more elegant look than French style furniture. It might not be the best choice for the rough and tumble of family life, but for a taste of elegance and femininity, there is nothing quite like it.
