Twin Beds for Kids

Published by My-Articles under Furniture

A twin bed is the best solution when we are looking for a new bed for our little one who grown big for their toddler bed. Twin Bed Dimensions are perfect as they are not so big that the transition from a toddler bed to a bigger one might overwhelm the child, and yet not so small that they won’t be needing another bigger bed in the next couples years.

When helping our kids to move from their comfort bet to a grown-up bed, it would be gread if we ask for their opinion on what kind of bed that they prefer, from design and style, to the bedding and bed accessories.

need a bigger bed? check our Bed Dimensions article

Choosing a Twin Bed

To help us preparing the space for our twin bed, it would be good to know that twin bed dimensions are thirty-nine inches in width and seventy-five inches in length.

If we are placing this in our children’s old room, it shouldn’t take up too much space as there is not that much difference when it comes to size, between a toddler bed and a twin bed, also known as a single bed.

There are a lot of twin bed frames available on the market, and once again we can ask our child’s opinion.

When it comes to bed frame, we can choose from several available materials, such as brass, wood, metal, or wrought iron. To make the twin bed more personal, we can add some fixtures such as a canopy if our child is a girl, or simply use beddings with special character designs for both boys and girls.

Another factor we have to consider is the twin bed mattress. We should let our child try out several ones to see which one will be most comfortable for them. On the other hand, it would also help if we know the different kinds of foam that are used for twin beds.

There is the usual memory foam that has been used for many years now by bed mattress manufacturers, and then there is the recent addition of organic foam material used nowadays for people who are advocates of greening the earth.

To ensure that no health risks will be present on the bed that our child will use, the mattress must be made from hypoallergenic material.

Twin Bed Hunting on The Internet

To help our child better visualize what kind of twin bed they would prefer, we should check out the internet. Online, we can look at several twin beds that we can choose from and help our child decide the perfect one that they will enjoy sleeping on.

We can also start to look on some bed sheets, pillow cases (read more about Pillow Dimensions) and comforters that we can put on the bed once we have put in our child’s bedroom. This selection process will excite our child, therefore making them eager to try out their new and bigger “grown-up” bed.
